What you will do:

  • Work with the team to provide exceptional service to our customers (neighbors)
  • Ensure pet center is clean, the animals are well cared for, and cash handling, safety and security standards are met according to Handbook
  • Review store metrics and goals and help develop opportunities for improvement
  • Build morale by understanding individual motivation and needs then reward successful performance
  • Communicate daily goals and tasks and follow-up to make sure they are completed
  • Help Store Manager with training, provide timely coaching, and serve as a role model 
  • Help to build partnerships with local rescue groups and charities to host events
  • Work within a system, but be willing to change when areas for improvement arise
  • Help with recruiting by reviewing applications and participating in interviews


What you need:

  • Have 2 years of retail experience managing a team or in leadership position
  • Have a 4-year college degree a plus
  • Have strong analytical skills to effectively problem solve and drive results 
  • Be able to process information/merchandise through a POS register system
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel 
  • Have solid communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead others
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment, while managing multiple tasks
  • Have strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and accuracy
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Be able to operate and use all equipment to run a pet center, including a forklift
  • Be 18 years or older
